We hope you can join us. \nThursday\, July 17 • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.\nFrom St. Junípero Serra to Lieutenant William Emory – The story of Mission San Juan Capistrano is told through the writings of a surprisingly wide-ranging group of visitors to the mission stretching from its founding as a Spanish outpost in 1776 to becoming a part of the United States of America in the 1840s.\n \nThursday\, July 24 • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.\nThe Books that Made Mission San Juan Capistrano – Few are aware that the mission’s original library\, assembled by the missionaries themselves\, remains in the mission’s collection. Annotations in some of the books tie them to some of the most important missionaries and events in the history of California and tell a fascinating story about how the mission was built\, organized\, and maintained.\n \nThursday\, July 31 • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.\nHow Old are These Buildings\, Anyway? – The story of the mission’s many buildings can be pieced together through a combination of historical documents\, archaeology\, and detective work.
